Edwards Engineering printing roller bases are manufactured to customer's specifications and tolerances from high quality carbon steel tube which provide excellent rigidity and durability yet can still be handled with the minimum of effort.

On going and continuous investment in machine tools, skilled personnel and inspection equipment ensures that the high standards of quality and precision are maintained and that Edwards Engineering retain their envious reputation for prompt service and quality in the manufacture and supply of superior printing roller bases.

Stage 1

High quality carbon steel tube is selected from stock and rough machined to near final diameter.

Stage 2

Rough machined steel tubes are bored to ensure consistent wall thickness and true dynamic balance.

Stage 3

Machined journal shafts prepared for shrink fitting into shouldered bore tube ends. Hardened, ground brushes are available for fitting to journals as required.

Stage 4

Journals shrink-fitted and welded into tubes prior to final machining.

A completed printing roller machined to final finish.

Various hardened and ground brushes are always avaliable from stock for rapid turnaround of new or repaired rollers. Keys are available.
